Choi / DHI (Direct Hair Implant) Hair Transplantation

The DHI hair transplant method was first introduced to the world in 2001 and a  great revolution was witnessed in the field of hair transplantation. The DHI method,  which lasted for more than 10 years, has spread rapidly across the world since  2016 and has become one of the most preferred hair transplant methods. With this  method, hair transplantation can be performed without cutting the hair and without  any cutting procedures before opening the canal. Since the hair is not cut short, this technique is the most preferred method of hair transplantation for women. The  application is also called direct hair transplantation and “Leon Technique  application”. It is important to note that the Choi / DHI method of hair transplantation is not a separate technique, but an improved version of the FUE method.

In addition, the DHI method can be used for transplantation of beard, moustache and eyebrows. After the necessary grafts have been taken from the donor area, the Choi (pencil) technique is applied without the need for the solutions used at this stage, as no piercing is performed in this technique. The hair follicles are carefully transplanted with a special medical instrument called the Choi Implanter the professional to certain correct angle and direction, carefully using the pushing method of the needle one by one. In other words, hair roots taken with the Fue technique are inserted into these special objects and the planting is done simultaneously.

Since the waiting time for the grafts is too short, the health and quality of the hair  follicles are maximised and there are no unwanted negative consequences. The DHI method is more demanding and takes longer than the FUE method.  However, the healing time of the wounds is much shorter as there are no incisions.  With the Choi pen, the most successful result in hair transplantation is achieved by  the most natural appearance, the most accurate way of determining the front  hairline, in the most accurate way of planting, the hair follicles in the right direction,  and choosing the hair colour.
